The 5 Regions in the United States.
You have an awesome opportunity to share your regional culture/expertise as a guest presenter in our classroom. There is not better way to learn about a region than visiting that region. Since taking a field trip to every region this year is not possible, the next best thing is to have a expert from each region come in and share first hand experiences about that region. If you have lived or spent extended time in any state other than Colorado, our class needs your help. Consider preparing a presentation (digital or hard copy with pictures, videos, audio clips...), guessing game, holding a question and answer session, informally telling us about growing up in a different region, or bringing in popular foods eaten in that region to share with the class. Simply find your child's room number in the list below and find the date range that aligns with the region you would like to share information from. Then, email Mrs. Clark your preferred date. If you grew up in a different state and are unsure of the region simply email Mrs. Clark for more information. Different social scientists group states slightly differently so don't feel bashful, when asking for clarification. Keeping presentations to 30 minutes is usually ideal for this age range unless you make them interactive. Your presentations will need to occur sometime between 10:20 - 11:35, ideally between 11:00-11:35.
